My Cricut Cartridges

Here are a few brief reviews I have written about my Cricut cartridges.  Head over to The Cricut Website and do a search for the cartridge you are looking for if you want to see images of the box and an overview of all cuts available. They have great images, but they are copyrighted, so I couldn't copy them here.  What I plan on doing is making a few cuts with each cartridge and showing them here.  Then, I'll add a little bit about what I like and dislike about each cartridge.  Hope you find it helpful!

Flower Shoppe
Flower Shoppe is solely flowers, petals, and leaves.  There are no shadow, blackout, or even shift features. Because of the small amount of content, you can find this cartridge very inexpensively. You have the option to layer the cut outs into 3D flowers (top left is an example, but it is hard to see). These 3D flowers are fairly easy to make, but take a little patience.  You can also use the cuts in a two dimensional way, layered or otherwise.

Pros: inexpensive, coordinated flower parts for 3D and 2D usage
Cons: limited content
Uses: scrapbooking, cards, 3D crafting

Graphically Speaking
Part of the reason I purchased Graphically Speaking was because of the great reviews on Amazon.  When I started using it, I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be.  There are some really interesting images, but for me, it wasn't a great buy. There are a lot of word art type images, and some clip art type images.  I would examine the box closely, or look up a picture of all the images, before purchasing this cartridge.

Pros: A lot of content, and a good variety of the type of content
Cons: not as useful as I was expecting (for me personally)
Uses: cards, scrapbooking, signage, wall art

Home Decor
Home Decor is a fairly limited cartridge, but has a lot of good uses. It contains images and a few words, in different fonts and styles.  I love the flourishes and fleur-de-lis.  I think alot of these images would be good to cut into vinvyl as a wall stencil.

Pros: beautiful flourishes, many uses
Cons: somewhat limited content, some very intricate designs are difficult to cut (especially at a smaller size)
Uses: wall art (or stencils), signage, scrapbooking, cards
